I was given (thanks!) some advice and asked to report back by a few. Some thoughts my Salton Sea paddle: - it is huge - it is very hard to get to the water's edge because of long stretches of quicksand like mud that encircles the sea - I didn't get on the water until 1 pm, but ideal conditions in temp and light winds, reflecting the sky - it has a reddish tint, alot of living birds (among dead things) - i did an 11 mile paddle to about the middle - i have been here at the beach for a fly for three days and seen no other vessels on the sea - everybody thought it was bizarre to kayak on the Salton, but I think it was a very unique experience |
