Sunday November 4
|By: Robert Tongen|
|This is the second week in a row that only 3 CKF members have paddled from Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard. Bob Glicksman, Lance Pillsbury, and I launched before 9:00 to calm seas and winds with mostly cloudy skies. We headed to the Hueneme Buoy and then Pier. It was an easy paddle and fun listening to Bob and Lance discuss their paddle near Monterey and the Slough last week.
There was only a slight breeze all morning and the sun came out by mid morning. We paddled around the breakwater and played in the wash off the north end. We many times stopped and appreciated what a beautiful day and how great it was to be on the water. Even after cleaning up, it was so nice we were reluctant to leave.
That is the way it was this first Sunday in November.
